Week 6
Hello everyone welcome back to my blog. Today I'll talk about what I did this week.
This week, I've been diving into the world of app development with MIT App Inventor! Ace introduced us to the platform, and it's been a really cool experience. MIT App Inventor is a web-based platform that lets you build apps using a drag-and-drop interface, which is perfect for beginners. We started with the basics, learning how to create a new project, drag and drop components like buttons and text boxes onto the screen, and customize their properties such as color, size, and font. Ace also showed us how to use the "Blocks" editor to program the app's logic. A key part of the process was learning how to connect our App Inventor projects to our phones using the MIT AI Companion app. This lets you test your app in real-time! To connect, you download the MIT AI Companion app on your phone, then in MIT App Inventor, go to "Connect" and select "AI Companion." Scan the QR code that appears with the app on your phone, and your app will appear on your phone for testing! Ace also shared some additional tips and tricks, such as how to get links for your apps so you can share them with others, how to change the background color and font size to customize the look of your app, and how to make buttons navigate to different screens when clicked, allowing you to create multi-page apps.
That's all for today and see you next blog.
